⛈️ Exposed water — wind caution. Pike Lagoon and Mundic Creek are quite exposed. A headwind can make paddling very difficult. Check
BOM Renmark before setting out. Also check water levels at
waterconnect.sa.gov.au.

🛥 Route Summary (Clockwise)
- Launch 1 → Point A (4.2 km NW): Paddle NW. Launch 2 → Point A (1 km N): Paddle N past island.
- Point A → Point B (1.75 km): Continue past island. Turn right at Point B.
- Point B → Point C (1 km): Wide water = Tanyaca Creek. Turn right.
- Point C → Point D (2.5 km): Wide left sweep through Tanyaca Creek. Take small creek right at Point D.
- Point D → Point E (1 km) + Portage: Junction at Point E — turn right (left is dead end). Travel ~0.5 km to ancillary regulator. Use kayak ramp only. Do NOT use main regulator. ~0.25 km to Mundic Creek.
- Mundic Ck → Point G (4.5 km): Turn right in Mundic Creek. Small creek on RHS at Point G. Turn right. Strong current.
- Point G → Pike Lagoon → Point H (~2 km): ~0.5 km to Pike Lagoon. Follow right, ignore anabranch on left, LHS of lagoon ~1.5 km to Point H = Upper Pike River.
- Point H → Point J (5 km): Follow Upper Pike River. At Point J, keep left (ahead) — Snake Creek (RHS) is a dead end unless water is high.
- Point J → Point K (5 km): Old Col Col Regulator remains.
- Point K → Launch 2 exit (3.5 km): New Pike River Regulator.
- If launched from Launch 1: Portage new regulator → 1 km downstream to Point A island → turn left → 4.2 km back to Launch 1.
⚠️ Key Cautions
- Portage at Point E: Ancillary regulator only. Do NOT use the main regulator ~1 km further — not designed for portage.
- Exposed water: Pike Lagoon and Mundic Creek are exposed to headwinds. Plan accordingly.
- Strong current at Point G: Allow extra effort entering the creek toward Pike Lagoon.
- Snake Creek dead end: At Point J, Snake Creek (RHS) is impassable unless water levels are high. Stay in the Pike River (left/straight ahead).
- Water levels vary: Check waterconnect.sa.gov.au before launching.
- No facilities on trail: Fully self-sufficient. Carry all food and water.
